INHABITING RESONANT BODIES

PERFORMED AT XMTR FESTIVAL 2026 & SONO ELECTRO

Inhabiting Resonant Bodies is an ongoing practice-based research project exploring resonance as a spatial, material and bodily condition. Through the design and fabrication of sounding objects, spatial audio, performance and wearable technologies, the project examines how sound moves between bodies, materials and spaces, and how these relationships might be inhabited, sensed and performed.

The work unites computational design and digital fabrication methods with experimental musical composition, and spatial performance workflows to produce instruments and inhabitable sonic environments that operate between architecture and music. Here, resonance is considered as relational and contingent, and emerges through encounters between sounding bodies, listening bodies, material properties, spatial conditions and spatial audio technologies.

The project develops through an iterative series of performances, installations, instruments and experiments, and asks how sound can become an architectural material, capable of constructing, tuning and inhabiting space.
