Perhaps not the most appropriate track for this evening as things have been pretty anti-dry so far… Whilst writing a chapter about flooding in Venice and quoting “…water gushes from the manhole covers, surges up through cracks in the floor…drenches the walls…” my washing machine decided to flood the kitchen and drench the floor (perhaps just trying to give me an idea of what the Aqua-Alta is actually like… So much for a productive evening! Anyone know of a good (cheap) plumber? Anyway, at least I can now sit back and enjoy this song which appears on the great album MINGUS, performed by the killer line-up of Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock, Peter Erkstine, Wayne Shorter and my favourite bass player of all time: JACO PASTORIUS Woo!
